Meeting Minutes - approved October 17, 2013
- Meeting was called to order at 2:30PM
- Attendees were Claire Golding (chair), Anne Littlefield, Rosemary Fudeman, and Lynne Grettum
- Rosemary was sworn in for a new term to expire on March 31, 2015.
- Minutes from December 6, 2011 were reviewed. A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes. The vote was unanimous.
- The March 6th 2012 Presidential Primary voter requirements were reviewed for compliance. The last day to register to vote in the Primary was February 15th, and the Town Clerk’s office was open as required until 8PM on the 15th.
- Reviewed the May 14th Town Election schedule.
- Last day to register to vote is April 24th. Town Clerk’s office will be open until 8PM that evening.
- Discussed the election recount process and associated deadlines and Registrar activity.
- No races on the Town Election ballot
- Lynne reported on the Nomination and Initiative Petition activity seen in the Clerk’ office
- Received 3 nomination papers for Jim McGovern and certified 27 signatures
- Received 3 nomination papers for Scott Brown and certified 5 signatures
- No Initiative Petitions were received since the initial round of signatures back in late 2011.
- A revised 2012 Election Calendar was presented to include 2 dates that were omitted from the previous calendar, May1st and May 8th deadlines for submission of nomination papers for both districts, federal, and state offices.
- New voter project
- Results from the previous mailing – 9 returned out of 16 mailed – 56%
- Plans were made to continue the mailings. Next scheduled mailing is July 31st in time for the State Primary on Sept. 6th. The registrars will meet at the Town Hall to send out the next mailing.
- A motion was made and seconded to dissolve the meeting. Vote was unanimous, and the meeting was dissolved at 3:10PM
